Small Bites

Life is easier to swallow
When you hardly chew
With your mind hollow
Things easily pass through

But before you change how you feel
Ignorance ain’t bliss
Everything seems unreal
And you ask, “What life is this?”

Life used to be quite sour
And I would gag at the taste
Yet I still don’t devour
When its been replaced

I’m not saying I’m tired
Of the sweetness on my lips
There’s just something still desired
That the taste can’t eclipse

It’s like my food is hollow
Like I’m eating something light
Satisfaction has yet to follow
So, down I gulp, another bite.
